Late Congress Stock Disclosures: Who Reported Late?

Politician Stock Tracker

The STOCK Act gives Congress 45 days to disclose stock trades—yet thousands of filings arrive much later. Who reported trades late? Our tracker lists 3,002 disclosed transactions where the gap between trade date and public filing exceeded that threshold.

The short answer

A late congress stock disclosure is any stock trade where filing date − transaction date is more than 45 days. We sort the late congress stock disclosures list by longest delay first so the worst gaps surface at the top.

Examples from the current data:

Politician Ticker Trade date Filed Delay
Markwayne Mullin SHOP 2023-01-03 2025-08-13 953 days
Markwayne Mullin PYPL 2023-01-03 2025-08-13 953 days
Markwayne Mullin PODD 2023-01-03 2025-07-30 939 days
Richard Dean Dr McCormick ABT up to 917 days
Ritchie John Torres MCK up to 547 days

Mullin's January 2023 buys in names like Shopify and PayPal stayed off the public record for more than two and a half years before appearing in Senate filings in mid-2025.

That does not mean these are the only late filers in Congress—the full database tracks 3,002 late disclosures across many members and years.

Why delays matter

Late filings reduce real-time transparency. A trade can be weeks or months old—and prices can move substantially—before retail investors see it in public records.

What we measure

  • Delay in calendar days between disclosed transaction date and filing date.
  • Stock trades from public House PTR, Senate, and OGE reports.

What we do not claim

  • Late filing is not automatically illegal; enforcement and penalties depend on context.
  • We report timing facts from public documents, not legal findings.
